With a brain as big as her mouth, sexy Michaela Hewitt doesn’t think that traditional romance has anything to offer her. Beneath his strapping Southern gentleman exterior, Jake has unusual layers that get under her prickly skin, for better and for worse. She finds him perfectly suited to following her spirited lead, as she continues to protect her little brother and Lia, who becomes Michaela’s biggest fan.
 

Unfortunately, troubled Lia’s teenage drama throws a wrench in Michaela and Jake’s burgeoning romance. Jumping from one sticky situation to the next, good boy Jake suffers through being hot around the collar, while bad girl Michaela feels the heat under her fledgling halo. Together, they take a backward path through a romance that, instead of trying to cure her, proves an elixir to her fierce and funny spirit.
