Premise

Bound To Be by BJ ThorntonBound To Be was originally a set of five short stories that I published while I was getting my feet wet as an erotica writer. The stories were based on the Arthurian legend of Erec & Enide, by Chrétien de Troyes, abbreviated at TimelessMyths.com.

In my version of the tale, Edin is a colored woman of Moorish descent (using the terminology of the time), and a common girl with a dark past. During a chance encounter, she meets Sir Erec of Ester Gale, a heathen prince who has become a knight of the round table, by way of a political alliance with increasingly Christian Camelot. Erec’s chivalrous ways distinguish him from other men that Edin has taken to bed in order to make her way through the world. For a night of pleasure, and a special favor, Erec repays Edin with a paid stay in Camelot, which she hopes will be a more welcoming place for a woman like her than her small town.

However, tragic circumstances make Edin a member of Erec’s household, where she constantly clashes with his sister Dyan, a beautiful but ruthless young woman who is at odds with the traditional femininity of Queen Guinevere and her Christian court. Edin’s defies Dyan, forcing Erec to discipline her, and he discovers that she has a taste for his belt. A kinky tryst ignites a dark passion between them that blurs the line between devotion and discipline, pleasure and pain. Unsure of their strange tastes, and their feelings for each other, Erec and Edin stumble toward love. However, her faith in him is not secure, while her free will is bound by feudal law and the constraints of nobility. Bound To Be will be a story about obsession, sex, duty, and conflict, in which Erec struggles to become both Edin’s lover and her lord.
